Svenja is a Bachelor’s student of University of Potsdam, where she’s being trained in European media studies with a special focus on game studies. She’s interning at Booster Space in the weeks leading up to #gamesweekberlin, therefore she’s made the huge sacrifice of having no semester break at all. In the office, she’s the plant expert and also often snack supplier: “Chocolate-eating collegues are happy collegues!”

1) What are your responsibilities for the #gamesweekberlin/what do you do at #gamesweekberlin 2018?
I’m in part responsible for Social Media and Communications for many events of gamesweekberlin. I also help out with graphics or website matters. The events I mainly do work for are Medienpreis Games, which I helped develop alongside some of my fellow EMW students, Womenize!, especially the Womenize! Wednesday Weekly series, Gamefest and public gamesweekberlin channels. During gamesweek, you will see me speed around, snapping pictures and keeping everyone posted about what’s happening via Facebook and Twitter.

2) Which event are you most looking forward to and why?
I’m looking forward to all events, but especially to @Medienpreis Games! It’s not everyday that you get to help develop an idea from start to finish, from a thought to an actual event that will reward outstanding Games Journalism of German language for the very first time! A lot of hard work is going into #mpg18 and it’s already been a joy receiving such positive response and so many submissions from the public.

What’s your favorite game you played this year?
Probably not the most exciting answer, but Pokémon Ultra Moon. I’m a sucker for all the Pokémon games for handheld consoles, since 1999 🙂 I have a shiny Alolan Meowth and Smeargle (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
